Week Calendar

This class builds on your existing practice with more advanced poses and techniques. We will focus on alignment, breathing, core strength and mindfulness.

This class combines the ancient wisdom of Qi energy with modern techniques to maximize the brain's function. Each class includes stretching, core strengthening, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation. Classes are suitable for all levels.

Ages 18 to 30 months with a caregiver. No siblings, please. 

Play with your toddler and meet other families with young children.

Join a Long Island Chess Nuts instructor for four weeks of chess instruction and games. 

Please register for Series 1 OR Series 2. 

Ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 with an adult. No siblings, please. 

Enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, and a short storybook film.

Improve strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, posture, and alignment using hand-held weights, a resistance band, and a ball. Please register at least one hour before the class in order to be sent the Zoom link.

Learn in a small setting practical English that will help to make you comfortable using English in a variety of common situations. Limited registration.

This class is especially suited for the older adult, and combines the basics of Simply Stronger and Simply Stretch. You will need light hand weights for the class.

Recharge, unwind, and improve balance and posture, de-stress, and enhance your energy and focus in this all-levels class of gentle seated and standing poses and mindful breathing.

Qi Gong is an ancient Asian healing mind-body practice that means energy work.

Learn the rules of chess and develop your skills as you play against other teens. 

Join us for an afternoon to make a fused glass sun catcher.  All supplies are included and no experience needed.

Ages 3 1/2 to 5 years.

Alfred Hitchcock was a true master of suspense, a filmmaker who redefined the thriller genre. This program will feature many interviews with Hitchcock himself, as well as interviews with many of the stars of his films.

Enjoy an hour show of wonderful mind-reading and illusion. Along with the incredible "mentalist" effects, it combines visual demonstrations of mesmerizing magic and special effects, audience participation, clean comedy and more.

Create a gorgeous bookmark featuring spring-themed dried flowers.

Registration for SSD residents begins March 3, all others one week later if available.
