Cole Porter was the greatest composer/lyricist to devote himself to Broadway in the first half of the 20th century, and Stephen Sondheim was the greatest of the last half. In this compare-and-contrast exercise, we’ll look at five matched pairs of songs and learn the similarities and differences of these two geniuses.
