During the 1960s songwriters such as Neil Diamond (Sweet Caroline), Roy Orbison (Oh, Pretty Woman), Eric Clapton (Layla) and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (Suite: Judy Blue Eyes) continued this tradition and in doing so were responsible for some of the most famous rock songs of the decade.
