Event Details
On the early morning hours of February 3, 1959, the careers of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson all came to a sudden and tragic end when the small charter plane carrying them and their pilot Roger Peterson crashed in only minutes after takeoff. The lecture will examine the careers and personal lives of these three outstanding artists, listen to first hand accounts of the events leading up to the crash, and address some of the still unanswered questions that continue to haunt historians and fans of Rock and Roll's early years. No registration is needed.
